Grocery Store Finds: December 2018

Grocery Store Finds with Chef Julie Harrington, RD @ChefJulie_RD

While December is full of holiday parties and gatherings, I was still sticking to my normal grocery shopping routine. For 2019, I want to hear from you! What products should I be on the lookout for? What new items are being added to your grocery carts? Don’t hesitate to shoot me an email, or message on my Instagram or Facebook.

Dole Açaí Bowls

Skip the $12.00 açaí bowls out when you can enjoy them at home. Dole’s Açaí Bowls are perfectly portioned. The original bowl is a blend of açaí, bananas, and honey topped with strawberries, blueberries, honey oat granola, and coconut at only 210 calories per bowl. Açaí is incredibly rich in antioxidants, boasting three times the amount found in blueberries. So next, time skip the line at the playa bowl shop and stock up on these açaí bowls at home.

Whisps Parmesan Cheese Crisps

These Whisp’s Parmesan Cheese Crips are simple parmesan cheese melted into little disks. If you are looking for a low-carb savory snack, these are for you! I dunked these into hummus and crumbled them on top of my salad. I mean, who doesn’t love cheese?

Green Giant
Cauliflower Crust Pizza

There are so many cauliflower crusts out there to choose from. I always want you to flip over the package at look at the ingredient list. I’m calling out some of the “cauliflower” crust imposters. I mean, if you are going to call it a cauliflower crust, cauliflower should be the first ingredient. (Note: ingredients are listed from most dense to least dense, meaning whatever the majority of the product is made up of is listed from first to last.) Green Giant’s Cauliflower Crust’s ingredients are: Cauliflower, Rice Flour, Corn Starch, Corn Flour, Cornmeal, Canola Oil, Salt, Black Pepper. Plus, this product is listed as one of Good Housekeeping’s Nutritionists Approved items.

Organic Girl White Cheddar
Ranch Style Dressing

While I usually make my own dressings, I do keep a few bottled dressings on hand. When looking for a pre-made dressing, I check the ingredient list, to make sure there are not a ton of fillers or artificial ingredients. I like Organic Girls white cheddar ranch-style dressing because of their ingredient list and of course the taste. Dunk these in oven-baked chicken wings. You can thank me later.

Dorot Chopped Basil

If you have more of a black thumb like me, Dorot’s frozen herbs are awesome to keep stocked in your freezer. Simply pop out an herb pod and add to a recipe. They also have minced garlic!

Now let’s get shopping!
